We just got in new dog life vests! We were down at my parents this past weekend so I decided to try it out with Parker. It worked great! Excellent flotation and no hindrance to his swimming form. Check out the video below – cheesy tropical music and all. Now if I could only do something about that brown Galveston water
The extra sturdy handle works great for lifting Parker’s 75lb in and out of the water from a dock or boat.

We just got in our first cases of Dog Beer! Parker enjoys it
Don’t worry – the bottles are plastic and will not break
Bowser Beer is a non-alcoholic, non-carbonated beer for dogs. All ingredients are American made. The broth is made from scratch – no onions, salt or fat is added. Malt barley is good for shiney coats and Glucosamine aids in joint health.
Bowser dog beer is great for celebrations, sporting events, or anytime people party with their pets. Yes, it’s a novelty and a great gift idea, but it’s also a healthy alternative to giving real beer or alcohol to animals.
Ingredients: Malt barley, 100% American-made beef/chicken broth, glucosamine, citric acid & sodium benzoate for shelf life. Hops and alcohol free, this dog beer is low in calories and fat. Human grade ingredients, with guaranteed analysis listed. Refrigerate after opening.

Came across a great organization today working to help disabled Americans in wheelchairs enjoy the outdoors with the help of specially trained wilderness service dogs. Check out their site here http://www.tailtrex.org/

Just got my 1st batch of Umbra Dog pop up tents in. Man are they cool! You can literally have the tent out of the box and ready for the dog to use in under a minute. The carrying bag is great and allows you to just throw the tent over your shoulder and take it anywhere. I can see this being used for hiking, camping, bringing your dog on a picnic, using as a portable home when visiting a friend, containing your pet in the car….I could go on and on. The thing that struck me most about the tent is the quality of the material. They say the viewing vents are made of “claw proof material” – I believe them – this stuff is tuff. In fact the whole tent is made of very durable material. It’s something that you really don’t get from just looking at a picture. I decided to shoot some video to show off the Umbra Dog. Hope you like it….

This is my first attempt at blogging so it may be a little rough at first as I get used to things. The main stars of the blog will be my dogs Parker (crazy but lovable Lab/Pointer mix) and Brinkley (spoiled rotten miniature Schnauzer that thinks she is a big dog). I will also post updates of what is going on in the family life. My wife Jenny and I just welcomed a daughter into the world. And the rest will be left for in use videos of some of the products at The Dog Outdoors as well as just other dog news in general.
