Being owners of 2 very active dogs, my wife and I understand how important it is to give them the exercise they need in order for them to be healthy, happy, and well behaved. Our Lab-Pointer mix, Parker, is especially active; so much so that the hour long walks everyday didn’t even seem to make a dent in his energy level.

Having full time jobs, we were desperate to find a way to release Parker’s energy because we didn’t have time to take him to a dog park on the weekdays or spend hours running him. I love bike riding so I started looking into ways to take Parker bike riding. I soon found out just how dangerous using a normal dog leash can be.

There had to be a device out there to safely bike with your dog. After some searching, we came across the Italian made WalkyDog® bicycle dog leash and fell in love. The product was extremely high quality, easy to install, and – best of all – it gave us full control of our dog when bringing him on bike rides. Parker absolutely loves the WalkyDog; and even better, he is worn out in a fraction of the time it would take walking him. My wife and I thought to ourselves that, if we loved it so much, others would too. Our friends and family agreed and that is how The Dog Outdoors was born. Since starting we have added complimentary products and even a new model bike leash. Our goal is to provide the best products and more information than anywhere else about those products. We also had a baby girl named Faye This business is helping to allow my wife to stay home with the baby while running the business. I am still working full-time at my day job, but hope to one day break off and expand The Dog Outdoors to a full-time gig. The Dog Outdoors primarily provides products for active dogs and dogs on-the-move. We only offer products that we have thoroughly tested and use ourselves; our dogs Brinkley and Parker are the test subjects.
